Pre-sales Support Engineer, Irdeto Beijing


Job Description
Irdeto was the first to launch a DVB-compliant digital conditional access system and has a reputation for innovation through launching the world’s first content security solution for broadcast to mobile phones and one of the first companies to unveil its IPTV solution in the US market.

In the role of Technical Pre-sales Support Engineer you will support whole Irdeto sales team on technical and product related matters. This includes the preparation of creative and attractive technical proposals as part of the bid process. The role is of critical value in the sales process and you will, in conjunction with the System Architecture team, ensure that the technical solutions proposed to customers are optimal, are aligned with our product roadmap, and meet specific customer requirements. You will also be assisting the strategic partners to build up end to end integrated solutions.

The role requires close liaison with external partners and with Irdeto internal Engineering, Sales, and Product Marketing departments.

Primary resPONsibilities
Ø
Work closely with members of the sales team to develop sales opportunities with strategic partners.

Ø
Support Sales by interfacing with existing and prospective partners and customers to determine their technical requirements and to discuss and develop complex technical solutions. This includes architecting network solutions.

Ø
Prepare and deliver detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospect customers and partners for various market segments.

Ø
Support Sales activities on a technical level at exhibitions and conferences. This includes assisting with planning and the setup and presenting of demonstrations.

Ø
Respond on time and accurately to questions, RFIs and RFPs and develop sound relationships with key technical players in the account.

Ø
The writing of White Papers on complex solutions and the presentation of papers at Events/Conferences to support Sales.

Ø
Provide feedback to Irdeto Marketing and Engineering on new product feature requirements.

Ø
Take ownership and act as the interface between partners and Irdeto functional departments to resolve complex technical sales issues.

Ø
Work according to Irdeto quality processes and guidelines as applicable.


Additional responsibilities
Assists with business development efforts and strategic relationships.
Contributes to business case development as required in respective market segments.


Interfaces and Authority
Interfaces with the local and worldwide Sales Teams; Global Sales Operations, Product Marketing and Engineering groups.

Knowledge & Skill requirements

Ø
University degree in electronic engineering, digital broadcasting, IT or telecommunications related field.

Ø
A minimum of 3 years of technical product support, system integration, pre-sales support or similar experience.

Ø
Must have a thorough working knowledge and proven track record of IP provisioning, IP network architecture and design.
A formal Cisco or equivalent certification will be an advantage.

Ø
Knowledge of IPTV, DVB PayTV or MobileTV business will be an advantage.

Ø
Must be able to build strong trust relationship with customers’ management and technical staff to support and facilitate proposals or negotiations regarding system architecture, functionality, interfacing, and system integration and performance characteristics.

Ø
Will develop and maintain, in cooperation with the System Architecture Team, an up to date and thorough knowledge of Irdeto products and their capabilities with special reference to our ability to interface these products with third party products so as to enable the design and enhancement of secure content delivery solutions.

Ø
Must be able to identify various vertical market channels and assist the sales representative in qualifying these channels from a product perspective.

Ø
Good technical writing ability and good presentation skills. (English and local languages).

Ø
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
